Sharjah will Establish Three new Pharmaceutical Facilities Valued at Dhs308.7 Million

Three new pharmaceutical factories worth a total of about $84 million (Dhs308.7 million) were established in Sharjah, according to the 13th International Pharmacy and Medicine Conference (ICPM 2025).

At the conference, which took place at the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park, the agreements for the new plants were inked. By joining an existing pharmaceutical facility in Sharjah, the additional facilities will support the expanding pharmaceutical sector in the area.

The facilities will focus on manufacturing eye drops, antibiotic capsules, stomach drugs, respiratory goods, and first aid supplies. Construction has started, and it should be finished by the middle or end of 2026.

The chairman of the organising committee, Dr. Munir Rayyan, emphasised the importance of these agreements in enhancing the pharmaceutical alliance between multinational corporations and factories in the United Arab Emirates, hence augmenting the UAE’s contribution to the regional pharmaceutical economy.

The UAE’s ability to compete globally in the health sector and its increasing significance in pharmaceutical innovation are both demonstrated by the new factories. With a $44 million investment, the first factory will use state-of-the-art technologies to make respiratory medicines and eyedrops. By the end of 2026, the construction will be finished.

The second, a 10,000-square-foot facility that will cost $35 million, will make stomach drugs and antibiotic capsules. It will begin operations in 2026 and have an annual production capacity of 600 million capsules.
