Trump Addresses Concerns About a Recession, Saying that Anything Can Happen” and That the US Economy is in a Transition Period

While acknowledging that a recession was a possibility, former President Donald Trump said on Friday that his policies will eventually lead to a significant economic boom in the United States, according to AFP. Just as Trump started enacting wide tariffs as part of his economic program, the most excellent economy in the world, the United States, unexpectedly shrunk in the first quarter of this year.

Trump called the present economic climate a “transition period” in an interview with Kristen Welker on NBC’s “Meet the Press. ” He added that he was optimistic, saying, “I think we’re going to do fantastically.”

“Anything can happen,” Trump said in response to a direct question on whether the US will enter a recession. Still, he maintained his confidence by saying, “I think we’re going to have the greatest economy in our nation’s history.” I believe that the greatest economic boom in history is about to occur.

Since taking office, Trump has attempted to change global commerce by imposing extensive tariffs, which has caused significant volatility in markets. However, when a robust U.S. jobs data was released on Friday, stock prices increased.
