During the seventh edition of the “Egyptian Theatre Actors’ Festival,” the Egyptian Actors’ Syndicate honoured His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council, for his efforts to support and promote theatre and the arts in the Arab world.
\nAt the festival’s opening ceremony in Cairo, Egypt, Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Culture Department, accepted the award on behalf of Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed.<\/p>\n
Along with numerous Egyptian and Arab artists, theatre professionals, and cultural figures, the event was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Sabre Khalil, the governor of Cairo; Dr. Ashraf Zaki, the festival’s president and head of the Actors’ Syndicat; Counsellor Saleh Al Saadi, the UAE Embassy’s representative in Egypt; Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, the festival’s honorary president and former Egyptian Minister of Culture; and Mohamed Riad, the president of the National Theatre Festival.<\/p>\n
The Actors’ Syndicate honed the late actor Ahmed Rateb posthumously, with director Samir Al Asfoury and well-known actor Yehia El Fakharany.<\/p>\n
