The retail behemoth vehemently resisted organised labour at its locations across the US, won a significant victory when North Carolina workers decided against establishing a union. A setback for union officials who have long wanted Amazon due to the wide range of businesses it touches, including manufacturing, data processing, warehousing, and trucking, was the opposition of around three-quarters of voters. For the union to be formed, a simple majority of the 4,300 employees at the warehouse in Garner, North Carolina, close to Raleigh, had to vote.<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"paragraph-0\"><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"paragraph-0\">The results of this week&#8217;s vote were announced on Saturday by the National Labour Relations Board, or NLRB. 829 voters supported joining a union, while 2,447 opposed it.
