At the “High Security Printing EMEA” conference in Basel, Switzerland, at the start of February 2025, the news was made. The design of the banknote symbolises the Central Bank’s steadfast dedication to advancing sustainable solutions in the financial industry and represents the UAE’s progress in the field of sustainability.<\/p>\n
The CBUAE’s application of the most recent technical specifications and cutting-edge security measures is responsible for this new accreditation. The banknote incorporates cutting-edge security technologies and features three-dimensional designs.<\/p>\n
These technologies were already used in the Dh1000 banknote’s award-winning “best new banknote 2023” edition. With this accomplishment, the United Arab Emirates becomes the first nation in the Middle East to produce banknotes with the biggest surface-applied foil stripe in the area.<\/p>\n
Printed by Oumolat Security Printing, a wholly owned subsidiary of CBUAE, this banknote, which is a member of the third polymer series, went into circulation on November 30, 2023. The announcement backs the leadership’s goal of hastening the shift to a green economy in order to secure a sustainable development-based future.<\/p>\n
The CBUAE chose polymer material in a calculated attempt to be more sustainable, which makes the new banknotes more resilient and long-lasting than the old ones. Because it is completely recyclable, this material has a far smaller environmental impact.<\/p>\n
