According to Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK, the US is “destroying” the current global order. The White House had “questioned the unity of the Western world” and was “taking more and more steps towards” Russia, which invaded Ukraine in 2022, according to Valerii Zaluzhnyi. The remarks follow a public altercation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his US counterpart Donald Trump, and as the US presses Ukraine to make compromises before any peace negotiations begin.<\/p>\n
Since then, Zelensky has declared that he is “ready to work” under Trump’s “strong leadership.” Trump has hailed the apparent easing of hostilities, which follows the US halting military assistance to Kyiv. However, Mr. Zaluzhnyi’s comments during a seminar held Thursday at London’s Chatham House imply that there is still dissatisfaction with US conduct.<\/p>\n
He spoke to a crowd: “We see that it is not only Russia and the axis of evil trying to destroy the world order, but the US is actually destroying it completely” . The Ukrainian ambassador went on to say that the White House was taking “steps towards the Kremlin regime, fully realizing that in this case Europe could be a new target for Russia” in negotiations with Russia, which were “headed by a war criminal” in President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n
