The Armani Group said Thursday that Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani had passed away at the age of 91. Over the course of his decades-long career, the designer is recognized for elevating Hollywood\u2019s red carpets and creating clothing with a distinctively Italian look. The Armani Group stated in a statement that the creator was \u201ca tireless driving force\u201d and that \u201cIl Signor Armani, as he was always respectfully and admirably called by employees and collaborators, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
On behalf of his family and staff, the brand released a statement that said, \u201cIn this company, we have always felt like part of a family.\u201d The vacuum left by the person who started and raised this family with vision, passion, and commitment is felt today with great emotion. However, it is in his spirit that we, the staff and family members who have always worked with Mr. Armani, pledge to preserve what he created and to continue his business in his honor, with love, respect, and responsibility.<\/p>\n
Armani skipped his own runway event for the first time in his career in June 2025 when he failed to make his customary bow at the brand\u2019s presentation during Milan\u2019s Men\u2019s Fashion Week. Without mentioning his health condition, the business said in a statement at the time that he was \u201ccurrently recovering at home.\u201d<\/p>\n
