We recently had the privilege of interviewing Alexander von Welczeck, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of SkyH2O<\/a>. With his expansive work in the Climate Technology and Renewable Energy industries, Alexander has established himself as an influential entrepreneur and industry leader throughout his more than three decades in the workforce.<\/p>\n

We started the session by asking, \u201cCan you walk us through your professional journey and how it led to where you are today?\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexander shared, \u201cI was born, and raised in California,\u00a0 and studied at the University of San Francisco \u2018USF\u2019. In my early career, I worked for Fortune 100 industrial companies,\u00a0 always in an entrepreneurial market development role. Since 2004 I have been a ClimateTech entrepreneur. SkyH2O is my 3rd ClimateTech business that I founded in 2016<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Every business is filled with inevitable challenges. To learn how Alexander von Welczeck overcame the same, we asked, \u201cReflecting on your career, what have been some of the most significant challenges you’ve faced, and how did you overcome them?\u201d<\/p>\n

He replied, \u201cMy business career started in 1986. Since then I have transacted in 22 different countries.\u00a0 It is always a challenge to adapt and adjust, to find the right way to successfully conduct business in foreign countries with different cultures<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

We further asked, \u201cHow do you balance long-term vision with short-term operational needs?\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexander continued, \u201cSkyH2O is a triple impact business; people, planet, and profit. As such, we will never compromise the environment including people or the planet to make a bigger profit. My business philosophy is – if it is destroying the planet, then it’s not an investment<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

With digital advancements having a huge impact on every business, we were intrigued to learn its influence on Alexander von Welczeck’s business. So, we asked, \u201cHow has digital transformation affected your business model?\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexander shared, \u201cDigital transformation enables SkyH2O to provide SMART IoT solutions that can be programmed and remotely controlled to optimally work as environmental conditions change, and as energy availability and costs change<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cAWG is a young, fast-growing new Renewables industry. Today AWG is at a stage similar to the solar industry 20 years ago. As AWG now rapidly grows, the industry will experience significant changes driven by new technologies that will make AWG more efficient,\u00a0 effective, smarter, and more profitable<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
