A crucial 1,000-meter two-lane bridge was opened by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to improve traffic flow between Hessa Street and Al Khail Road. The bridge cuts the 15-minute drive from Hessa Street to Al Khail Road to only three minutes, ensuring a smooth traffic connection to Dubai’s city center and Dubai International Airport.
RTA declared that four important crossings have been upgraded as part of the Hessa Street development project, reaching 54% completion. All junctions are anticipated to be completely functional by 2025’s fourth quarter.
Al Tayer went on to say, “One of the major infrastructure initiatives targeted at improving Dubai’s road system is the Hessa Street improvement project. Al Sufouh 2, Al Barsha Residential Area, and Jumeirah Village Circle are among the important residential and development regions it serves. Over 640,000 people are expected to live in the areas this project serves by 2030. With the reconstruction, Hessa Street will be able to handle twice as many vehicles per hour in both directions, from 8,000 to 16,000 per hour.
The third intersection is at Hessa and Asayel Streets. Works include widening the current bridge from two to four lanes in each direction along Hessa Street, alongside upgrading the surface-level signalised intersection to improve traffic movement.
