President Donald Trump announced four dismissals on social media on Tuesday, including former top general Mark Milley and celebrity chef Jose Andres, as part of his intentions to fire over 1,000 officials from former President Joe Biden’s administration.
My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again,” Trump wrote on Truth Social shortly just after midnight. The move will probably rekindle worries that the president wants to replace Biden appointees with people who support his policies.
Trump announced he fired Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council after Biden granted him a preemptive pardon on Monday. Trump stated in the tweet that Andres, who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Biden, was kicked out of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.
Shortly after Trump’s inauguration on Monday, the Pentagon took down the image of Milley, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who Trump has said should be put to death for having backchannel discussions with China.
