His Majesty The 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) and themed “It Starts with a Book,” was opened on Wednesday by Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Sharjah Ruler. The fair will run at Expo Centre Sharjah until November 17. This year’s edition’s honored guest will be Morocco.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the deputy ruler; Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the chairperson of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office; Sheikh Salem Bin Abdulrahman Al Qassimi, the chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office; Sheikh Khalid Bin Isam Bin Saqer Al Qassimi, the chairman of the Civil Aviation Department; Sheikh Majid Bin Sultan Bin Saqer Al Qassimi, the chairman of the Districts Affairs Department; Sheikh Salem Bin Khalid Al Qassimi, the Minister of Culture and Youth; Sheikha Nawar Al Qassimi, the director of the Sharjah Art Foundation; Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Butti Al Hamed, the chairman of the National Media Office; and other high-ranking officials, thinkers, and writers welcomed the Ruler of Sharjah.
The Ruler of Sharjah emphasized the importance of the Historical Corpus of the Arabic Language in promoting the Arabic language, its literature, sciences, and history in his introductory remarks. He also reaffirmed the dedication to promoting knowledge, raising cultural awareness, and bolstering the Arabic language internationally.
