Morrissey Undergoes Treatment for ‘Physical Exhaustion’ Amid Concert Cancellations

Singer Morrissey is currently receiving treatment for “physical exhaustion” following the cancellation of two concerts in the United States. A statement posted on his Instagram account explained that the singer has been advised to rest for two weeks and is under medical supervision in Zurich.

Morrissey, aged 64, had been scheduled to perform in California on January 26 and 27 as part of the 20th-anniversary celebration of his album, “You are the Quarry,” which includes some of his most iconic songs like “First of the Gang to Die” and “Irish Blood, English Heart.” The cancellation of these concerts was attributed to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Further tour dates in February have also been canceled, as indicated on Morrissey’s website. These canceled shows were set to take place in Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil next month.

The band She Wants Revenge, initially slated to support Morrissey at the California shows, expressed their genuine sadness at the turn of events. While frustrated and deeply disappointed, they acknowledged that the possibility of cancellations was known but hoped for a different outcome.

It’s worth noting that Morrissey has previously canceled shows due to health-related issues.
