A car fire that broke out on a major road in the Industrial Area on Monday was effectively put out by the firefighting units of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, sparing no lives.
At around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, the operations room of the Sharjah Police General Command received a report that a small vehicle had caught fire in the middle of the main road in the Industrial Area.
The National Ambulance, police patrols, and civil defence vehicles were sent to the scene in response. Within two minutes of arriving on the scene, the Civil Defence team successfully put out the fire by implementing rapid fire suppression measures.
After that, they cooled the fire scene to stop the fire from starting again and made it easier for the car to be removed, protecting the nearby traffic.
The Civil Defence Authority urges Sharjah residents to perform routine auto maintenance, especially during the summer months. The appeal also exhorts car owners to ensure that fire extinguishers are easily accessible and that their vehicles undergo the necessary inspections. Drivers are also asked to drive carefully and in accordance with safety regulations to avoid car fires.
