Images of Bhajan Singh Rana, the autorickshaw driver, posing with Saif Ali Khan in the hospital before he departed for home began making the rounds on social media a day after the Bollywood star was released.
On January 16, after the Bollywood actor was repeatedly stabbed during a robbery attempt at his home in the early hours of the morning, it was rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana who drove Saif to Lilavati hospital.
Saif specifically contacted the rickshaw driver to meet him at the hospital before departing for home. In one picture, Saif is seated on the hospital bed with the autorickshaw driver, grinning at the camera. Bhajan Singh Rana’s shoulder is where Saif’s wounded hand rests.
The 54-year-old celebrity, who is wed to Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, expressed gratitude to the rickshaw driver and encouraged him to seek assistance at any time. Saif and his mother, Sharmila Tagore, an experienced actress, thanked Bhajan Singh Rana.
Saif reportedly told the rickshaw driver, “Keep helping others like this,” and commended him for his efforts. Don’t worry about the fare that day; it will be covered. Remember me if you ever need help in life,” he continued in jest.
