Airbus is Considering Eight Locations in India for its H125 Helicopter Assembly Line

According to a report by PTI on Sunday, July 21, Airbus, a French aircraft manufacturer, has identified eight possible locations for the establishment of its final assembly line for the H125 helicopters in India.

Eight sites have been identified, and we are currently evaluating them. We are currently in the last phase of the evaluation. According to PTI, Airbus Helicopters executive vice president of global business Olivier Michalon stated, “We should be able to announce it shortly.

As per the report, the facility is set to become the fourth Final Assembly Line (FAL) for H125 helicopters. Its primary purpose is to produce up to 10 single-engine helicopters annually, with the option to increase production due to high market demand.

According to the report, Michalon stated, “India is the market of the future for helicopters… at present, the market is extremely embryonic, it is very small compared to what the potential could be.

The facility is scheduled to open in October or November of this year, and the report states that operations will begin in 2026. Most likely, the deliveries will begin at the end of 2026.

With a maximum passenger capacity of six, the H125 helicopter is the most popular helicopter in South Asia and India. According to the report, Airbus anticipates that 500 H125 series aircraft will be required over the next 20 years.
