Tej Bahadur Chhetri, the ambassador of Nepal, met with Abdullah Al-Muwaijai, the chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce (ACCI), to talk about ways to improve trade relations, expand economic cooperation, and look into potential investment opportunities between the two nations. Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, Aisha Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of Investment and Business Promotion at the Ajman Chamber, and Anas Mahdi, Director of the Office of the Nepalese Ambassador, attended the meeting at the Chamber’s headquarters.
Abdullah Al Muwaiji emphasised the significance of the meeting in bolstering trade relations and investment opportunities between Ajman and Nepal. He also outlined strategies for developing trade relations and increasing trade volume between the two nations. He affirmed Ajman’s commitment and eagerness to support and facilitate business operations for investors from Nepal, saying that the two countries have promising opportunities for developing mutual economic and investment relations. The Ajman Chamber of Commerce gave a presentation on the investment opportunities in various sectors, including real estate, construction, tourism, health, and hospitality, during the meeting.
The importance of profiting from the expansion of trade in the food and beverage industry was emphasised by the attendees, particularly in light of the 30% increase in trade between Ajman and Nepal in 2023 over 2022. Furthermore, in 2023, the number of Nepalese nationals in Ajman increased by 9.5%.
