Regional and International Planes are Affected by US and Israeli Strikes on Iran

Airspace closures by nations including Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) resulted in flight cancellations, diversions, and suspensions.

The UAE airspace shutdown also disrupted aircraft operated by airlines such as Emirates and Etihad, which advised passengers to check their flight status online, while planes headed to Israel were diverted to alternative airports. According to Qatar Airways Group, flights to Doha would not be operating until midnight UTC (1:00 am CET on Sunday).

Due to the escalation, several regional airlines in the Middle East, including EgyptAir, halted flights from Cairo to Kuwait, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Qassim, Dammam, Erbil, Baghdad, Amman, Beirut, and Muscat.Millions of travelers were impacted by Saturday’s flight disruptions throughout the region and beyond due to the US and Israel’s strike on Iran.

The State of Kuwait’s General Authority of Civil Aviation stated that a drone damaged the nation’s international airport on Saturday, causing “limited material damage” to the passenger terminal as well as “minor injuries to a number of employees.
