UAE Midday Breaks: More than 6,000 rest Areas Will be Available for Delivery Drivers

The Ministry of Human Resources has announced that more than 6,000 rest areas will be available for delivery service employees throughout the United Arab Emirates.

These stations will be established as joint ventures between public and private sectors. During their midday breaks, the riders will be able to use these locations, which they can access through an interactive map.

The Ministry is working to guarantee the health and safety of delivery service employees and provide them with a secure workplace, and this initiative is part of that effort.
The authority expressed gratitude to all private organizations taking part in the program, stating that “delivery services are a key logistical sector, unique in nature, given that its workers do not stay in one place while the Midday break is enforced, and due to the nature of certain materials being transported that need to be delivered on time.”

Employers must supply parasols and shaded areas during the midday break to shield employees from the sun, in addition to enough cold drinking water and sufficient cooling devices.
