Before the Air India Plane Crashed, the Engine fuel Supply Was Cut off, According to a Preliminary Analysis

According to a preliminary analysis, last month’s Air India tragedy, which claimed 260 lives, was caused by a break in the fuel flow to the engines. At Ahmedabad airport, the jet headed for London had just taken off when it crashed back to earth. Except for one passenger, everyone on board perished.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s engines were starved of gasoline when the fuel control levers in the cockpit were turned, according to a report from India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau that CNN was able to access. Whether the control switches were flicked by someone or in another manner is not stated in the study.

Data from the plane’s “black box” recorders, which included two hours of cockpit voice and 49 hours of flight data, including from the disaster, were obtained by investigators.

According to the report, the fuel cutoff switches on both engines “transitioned from RUN to CUTOFF position one after another with a time gap of 01 sec” after the aircraft had achieved 180 knots. One of the pilots may be heard asking the other why he shut off on the voice recording from the cockpit. According to the report, the other pilot replied that he didn’t.
