An Indian business group based in the United Arab Emirates is going to start an airline that will offer residents cheap tickets, they say. With over thirty years of experience in the travel industry, the Alhind group has obtained the necessary approval to launch its own domestic airline in India.
According to Khaleej Times, group chairman Muhammad Haris stated that they were nearing the end of the approval process. “We met with Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) officials last week, and we submitted all the paperwork needed to be granted permission to land at the airport,” he said. We previously obtained the no objection certificate (NOC) to launch the airline. If not before, we hope to start operations in January 2025.
Alhind Airline will use three ATR-72 turboprop planes at launch. At first, the company will only service cities in India, but it intends to grow quickly. According to a company representative, “we will start with three flights but as soon as we have 20 flights, we will begin international operations and our first destination will be the UAE.
