When Claire Danes found out she was expecting her third child at 44, she reportedly had a “meltdown.” The “Homeland” actress disclosed that she sobbed upon learning that she and her husband, actor Hugh Dancy, were expecting their third child.
The actress stated, “I called my ob-gyn in convulsive tears,” in an interview with Amy Poehler for her podcast Good Hang. It was a complete meltdown. The news was unexpected, not only because of Danes’ advanced age but also because she had previously had trouble getting pregnant.
“None of this was intentional,” she stated, mentioning that her three kids are five years apart. At 44, I was unaware that it was physically feasible. In actuality, Rowan—Danes’ second son was well-earned. I had to undergo two IVF cycles. It was simply so improbable.
Danes, who became well-known for her role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 film “Romeo + Juliet,” revealed to Poehler that she had been in a spa with a close friend, to whom she expressed her suspicion that she could be pregnant. She told Poehler that she told her pal, “I totally lost my mind last night and just decided I was pregnant.
