One of the three chambers that make up Dubai Chambers, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy (DCDE), has announced that, in H1 of 2024, it successfully assisted 215 high-potential digital startups in establishing and expanding their businesses in the emirate, achieving a year-over-year (YoY) growth of 212% over the 69 companies it supported in the same period the previous year.
As part of the “Create Apps in Dubai” initiative, spearheaded by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy and headed by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, the chamber trained 243 Emiratis in the first half of 2024.
In addition, the chamber planned twelve international roadshows to advance Expand North Star. October will see the world’s largest gathering of investors and startups, organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.
“In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate the emirate’s status as a global capital for digital economy, we are strengthening our efforts to develop an ecosystem that promotes the growth of digital businesses, supports their expansion, and positions Dubai as the global capital of the digital economy,” stated Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
