Riyadh: The CEO of Saudi historical destination developer Diriyah Co., Jerry Inzerillo, has been named a UN Tourism ambassador, joining a select club including Placido Domingo, Georgio Armani, and Lionel Messi.
As our newest travel ambassador, UN Tourism is thrilled to welcome Inzerillo. Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili stated, “In his new position, he will support the UN Tourism’s core messaging about the potential of tourism to drive change and achieve sustainable growth.”
The Kingdom’s capital city, Riyadh, is home to Diriyah, which is situated outside. At-Turaif, the former capital of the First Saudi State, is centrally located and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Once the project is finished, 100,000 people, including workers, students, and visitors, will live there. Various cultural, entertainment, retail, hospitality, educational, and residential facilities will be available. As the Kingdom works toward economic diversification under the objectives stated in Vision 2030, tourism locations such as Diriyah must be developed.
Working in the tourist industry allows us to be part of one of the fastest expanding industries globally, employing 320 million people currently and an additional 100 million in the next ten years. Yet that honor also carries a great deal of duty to make sure that our discoveries are ground-breaking, useful, and have a lasting effect, according to Inzerillo.
