The Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, highlighted on Monday how important technology transformation is to the UAE as part of a strategic plan to become a centre for influencing the future. Sheikh Hamdan commented while touring Google’s Dubai Innovation Hub offices.
The visit demonstrates how well the UAE and multinational tech businesses work together, especially in sophisticated technology and artificial intelligence. The collaboration began in 2008 when Google established the biggest Middle East and North African headquarters in Dubai.
During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan was informed about Google’s artificial intelligence initiatives, including the company’s contributions through AI-powered research and writing tools like the Gemini personal assistant and the Notebook application. He also received a preview of the Google Economic Impact Report for 2024, which focused on the financial spinoffs from Google products including Search, YouTube, Maps, Cloud, and Ads.
The paper examines Google’s value to customers, businesses, and communities throughout the United Arab Emirates and the overall effects of its goods and services. This is the first time Google has published a report of this kind for the nation.
