Comparing the first quarter of 2024 to the same period in 2023, there were 21% more commercial activities in the UAE aviation sector, with 11,990 total activities. This growth resulted in a 72% increase in new permit requests and a more than threefold increase in permit renewals.
Additionally, more than 4,000 landing permits for private, passenger, and cargo aircraft were requested in the first quarter of 2024 at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport to conduct all kinds of designated and non-scheduled flights, both commercial and non-commercial. Since the emirate’s construction industry has expanded to two and a half times its previous level, there has been a significant increase in building and elevation permits in air easement zones.
During the 23rd Airport Show, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) emphasised the critical role it plays in promoting the aviation sector and associated government activities. Over 150 exhibitors from over 20 countries participated in the event.
The director general of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, declared: “We are dedicated to making every effort to create and oversee aviation policy for the Emirate and to supply vital services to aviation operators and service providers.
