Indian call centres were utilising counterfeit +971 numbers to swindle UAE citizens by posing as Dubai-based currency businesses, according to a Khaleej Times investigation, which led to the sudden suspension of scam activities in Noida and Jaipur.
The news went around internally, causing fear, according to a worker at one of the Noida facilities. It spread over the world. “Managers wanted to know how the operation got out,” he claimed. We were all instructed to return home and wait for the situation to settle down.
Such an action has been compelled by an exposé before. Following a previous Khaleej Times expose last month, a contact centre in Dubai’s IMPZ neighbourhood that promoted similar dubious platforms shut down its operations overnight. All employees were abruptly sent home.
The most recent Khaleej Times investigation identified three centers—two in Noida and one in Jaipur—where agents pretended to be authorised brokers in Dubai using sales scripts and hacked UAE phone listings. However, the deeper relationship was revealed through the digital trail.
Several platforms, including F1Capitals, Algo Global International, Arbitrage Prime, and Oscar Markets, were connected to the same Saint Lucia location, according to domain registrations and addresses.
