Beginning on May 15, Fujairah International Airport will operate two direct daily flights to Mumbai and Kannur in collaboration with IndiGo, India’s low-cost airline. This development coincides with a surge in demand from both locals and visitors to Kannur and Mumbai.
Along with Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah, Fujairah is IndiGo’s fifth destination in the United Arab Emirates and its 41st foreign destination overall. This latest cooperation fortifies relations between Fujairah and India by providing travellers with various travel alternatives at affordable costs and convenient access to new locations.
Captain Ismail Mohammed Al Balooshi, Fujairah International Airport General Manager, stated, “This partnership reflects our commitment to providing more travel options for passengers and enhancing connectivity with vital destinations in India.
In addition to its role in promoting domestic travel, we believe that this action will help solidify Fujairah’s standing as a favored entry point for tourists from the area and beyond,” he continued.
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of daily direct flights from Mumbai and Kannur to Fujairah, the hidden gem of the UAE, known for its natural beauty and strategic location,” stated Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo.
