The targeting of Al-Udeid Air Base in the sister state of Qatar by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard was sharply denounced by the United Arab Emirates, which called it a flagrant breach of international law and the United Nations Charter as well as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace.
The UAE has categorically rejected any act that jeopardises Qatar’s security and safety and jeopardises regional peace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. The UAE’s complete solidarity with Qatar and its unwavering support for any steps meant to safeguard the security and safety of Qatari residents and citizens were conveyed by the Ministry.
The statement also emphasised the urgent need to stop military escalation right away, cautioning that if such actions continue, regional security may be put at risk and the region may be led down hazardous roads that might have disastrous effects on global peace and security.
In order to overcome the present problems and maintain the security, stability, and well-being of the region’s peoples, the Ministry emphasised that genuine conversation is the only option to achieve diplomatic answers and the good neighbourliness the idea.
