At Paris Couture Week, where celebrities like Rihanna, Teyana Taylor, Demi Moore and Jennifer Lawrence were among the headline guests, the most talked-about attendees were not actors or musicians. Instead, the spotlight quietly shifted to Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos.
Calling them simply “billionaires” feels incomplete. Their presence goes beyond wealth. They are increasingly visible players in cultural spaces that were once far removed from Silicon Valley power. Are they patrons, given their role as lead sponsors of this year’s Met Gala? Social figures? Or industry leaders now stepping deliberately into the world of fashion and pop culture? For now, they have earned a new label: fashion insiders.
Throughout the week, Bezos and Sanchez Bezos were seen front and centre at some of couture’s most exclusive shows. They arrived hand in hand at Schiaparelli, where Sanchez Bezos wore a red skirt suit paired with a matching clutch from the brand. Later that day, she appeared at Dior in a pale blue suit finished with an oversized fur collar. After the show, the couple made their way backstage to pose with Dior’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson and CEO Delphine Arnault. Bezos, notably, kept the same outfit and sunglasses on throughout the day, even during indoor photo moments.
