Following discussions at the EU-Kazakhstan Cooperation Council in Brussels, the European Union started streamlining the visa application process for Kazakh nationals. Council President António Costa reiterated this commitment during his first official visit to Kazakhstan on Thursday.
Costa stated in Astana, “I am well aware of how important these discussions are to both Kazakh and European citizens. Once this agreement is finalized, it will facilitate our people’s ability to interact, learn, work, and invest a genuine indication of our peoples’ friendship.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the president of Kazakhstan, also praised the deal, pointing out that greater mobility will promote collaboration in business, science, education, and cultural exchanges.
Kazakhstan is prepared to back the EU’s €12 billion investment package for Central Asia, according to Tokayev. The money would go toward projects related to digital technology, transportation, raw materials, and renewable energy.
We are pleased with the efforts you are making to enhance the investment environment. You can rely on us to highlight the enormous potential of our economic collaboration among European businesses,” Costa stated.
Kazakhstan promised Europe steady energy supplies. This follows an assault on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium earlier this year. Approximately 80% of Kazakhstan’s oil travels via the CPC, including to Europe.
