In a post on social media site X, Sheikh Mohamed stated, “On National Environment Day, we renew our determination to protect the environment and preserve its resources for future generations, drawing inspiration from our history of sustainable progress.
The UAE is still dedicated to helping global climate action initiatives and encouraging shared accountability for common global issues,” he continued.
In his speech, Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the UAE’s ongoing commitment to promoting green projects by funding renewable energy sources and enacting progressive laws meant to lessen their adverse environmental effects.
Additionally, the government is ensuring locals can participate actively in these programs. One example is the Zayed Sustainability Prize, established in 2008 to honour and recognise creative humanitarian endeavours.
To ensure a sustainable future for future generations, the UAE is working towards the objectives of the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategy, which aims to become a leading global model for sustainability across numerous national sectors.
