Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Union’s executive Commission, expressed her indignation at Russia’s most deadly attack on Kyiv since July, which also caused damage to the EU’s delegation office in the Ukrainian capital.

The largest strike on the city this month, according to Ukrainian forces, had Russia firing over 30 ballistic and cruise missiles and nearly 600 drones. The five-story apartment structure in the south-eastern Darnytskyi area on the left bank of Kyiv was home to several of the fatalities. Around 03:00, a missile ripped through the apartment complex, causing it to collapse.
Rescuers scrambled on top of smoldering portions of the structure to search for survivors while diggers cleared away debris. Three of the youngsters killed, according to officials, were two, fourteen, and seventeen years old. Numerous other children suffered injuries.
