Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a withering assault on Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, as well as the leaders of France and Canada, claiming that they have “effectively said they want Hamas to remain in power.
He also accused Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, and Mark Carney of supporting “mass murderers, rapists, baby killers, and kidnappers”. In response to Thursday’s attack on Israeli embassy officials in Washington, Netanyahu stated that the leaders of some of Israel’s closest friends urged Israel to “stand down and accept that Hamas’ army of mass murderers will survive.
So yet, Downing Street has not replied explicitly, instead referring to Sir Keir’s prior denunciation of the Washington incident. All three nations condemned the Washington shooting and expressed strong support for Israel following the devastating Hamas-led strikes 19 months ago.
However, earlier this week, Britain, France, and Canada blasted Israel’s extension of the Gaza conflict as “disproportionate” and the humanitarian situation as “intolerable.” They promised serious consequences if Israel did not cease.
In his video, Netanyahu stated that Hamas intended to destroy Israel and eliminate the Jewish people. He noted that the Palestinian armed organisation had appreciated the united UK, French, and Canadian criticism of Israel’s military tactics.
