The seven members of the international K-pop phenomenon BTS have officially returned from their enlistment requirements, with Suga, a rapper and composer, being released from South Korea’s required military duty.
After utilising up his remaining leave, Suga finished his alternative service responsibilities on Wednesday, according to the label. Saturday is his formal day of release. Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’ management company, had previously said that there will be no festivities for Suga’s release due to crowding concerns.
For fans of K-pop group BTS, it is a historic moment. Now that their duty is over, the seven vocalists of the well-known K-pop group intend to get back together as a group sometime in 2025. In June 2024, the eldest member of BTS, in, was released. In October, J-Hope was released from custody.
All physically fit men between the ages of 18 and 28 are legally obligated to serve in the South Korean military for 18 to 21 months as part of a conscription program designed to ward off North Korean aggression.
Athletes, classical and traditional musicians, and ballet and other dancers are granted exceptional exemptions under the statute if they have won major awards in certain events and are thought to have improved their national standing. Such advantages are not granted to K-pop singers or other celebrities.
