Since many schools are closing for summer holidays, Dubai’s airport terminals will be bustling for the remainder of this week. Emirates Airlines has sent a warning, advising passengers to make advance plans for periods of anticipated high travel demand.
The airline claimed in a statement that over 30,000 passengers will leave DXB on June 26 and that the number of departures would remain constant until June 30. “Passengers should prepare for increased traffic on the roads leading up to the airport, crowded parking lots, more passengers going through immigration, and the potential wait time between concourses and boarding gates.
Given the anticipated crowds at the airport, the airline advises passengers to be at the airport three hours before the trip and make sure they clear immigration 1.5 hours before departure. To prevent any last-minute panic or rush, they also recommend that their passengers arrive at the appropriate boarding gate at least an hour before departure.
Several schools in Dubai will be closed on Thursday, June 26. Friday, June 27, was previously stated to be a public holiday for the Islamic New Year to provide UAE citizens with a longer three-day weekend. As a result, many people have decided to take Thursday off for their summer vacation.
