The beginning of Etihad Airways’ A380 double-decker service, including The Residence, the fabled, opulent three-room apartment in the sky, was marked on Monday when flight EY1 from Abu Dhabi to New York touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves stated, “We’re excited to bring our A380 experience to New York and know our guests will enjoy the fantastic onboard journey.
Our strategy to meet growing customer demand and expand our network aligns with introducing the A380 to the well-liked New York route.” We have demonstrated our dedication to servicing and expanding the North American market by launching our new route to Boston, our fourth US gateway, just three weeks ago.
With the arrival of the A380, Etihad’s capacity in the crucial US market is greatly increased. This offers easy access to the Indian subcontinent and the wider Middle East. Thanks to the capacity boost, it will also be more straightforward to draw more tourists to Abu Dhabi.
One of Etihad’s two daily flights to New York will be served by a 787-9 aircraft operating in First, Business, and Economy classes, while the other route will be served by an A380.
