With the establishment of their first Joint Economic Committee (JEC), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Albania have deepened their economic ties. With an emphasis on priority areas including renewable energy, logistics, infrastructure, agriculture, food security, and technology, the meeting, which took place in Tirana, ushers in a new era of bilateral trade and investment cooperation between the two nations.
With the participation of senior officials and representatives from the private sector from both countries, such as Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, the UAE Ambassador to Albania; Juma Al Kait, the UAE Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs; HE Blendi Gonxhja, the Albanian Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation; and Albanian Deputy Ministers of Economy, Culture, and Innovation Sokol Duma and Enkelejd Musabelliu, the meeting was co-chaired by His Excellency Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, US Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
According to HE Al Zeyoudi, the UAE and Albania have a developing strategic alliance due to their shared dedication to promoting sustainable development and economic progress. The Joint Economic Committee’s formation offers a crucial forum for transforming our common goal into real outcomes. We are laying the groundwork for closer cooperation to benefit both countries by coordinating our goals in important areas, including advanced industries, agriculture, logistics, and renewable energy.
