“This week is all about me,” wrote then-Prince Andrew to sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein, demonstrating a lack of self-awareness.”Time to put something back into me before the rest of the world starts sucking it out in all their greed and demands,” he wrote in an email included in the US Department of Justice’s most recent disclosures. He was in a good mood, thanking Epstein for resolving an issue for his ex-wife Sarah over unpaid pay. He also stated that he was set to embark on his “annual retreat for the next eight days”.
And, coincidentally, this occurred in February 2011, casting doubt on Andrew’s claims that he had cut off all contact with Epstein the previous year. The people would roll their eyes and think, “Here we go again.” More depressing visuals and phrases. More character-damaging revelations. It does not get any better for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The photographs show him on his hands and knees, which is consistent with his reputation.
In terms of where this narrative might go, the current batch of emails reveals how much the US authorities had been working behind the scenes to persuade Andrew to testify against Epstein. In early 2020, there were several email exchanges, with an increasingly angry US Department of Justice wondering when Andrew would deliver his public promise to assist with investigations into Epstein’s activities.
