According to a new index published by the tax and immigration consulting firm “Nomad Capitalist,” the UAE passport is the most powerful passport in the Middle East and ranks 10th globally for 2025.
The passport received 106.50 points based on factors like travel flexibility, fiscal considerations, global perception, the possibility of dual citizenship, and personal liberties. The rating evaluated travel freedom using information from news sources, the Henley Passport Index, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The number of nations UAE passport holders can access without a visa, with a visa upon arrival, or through an electronic travel authorisation was used to determine the final score. According to the research, eight countries allow access with an electronic travel authorisation, 45 offer a visa on arrival, and 126 allow UAE passport holders to enter without a previous visa.
As a result, holders of UAE passports can enter 179 countries without a previous visa, while 71 additional countries need a conventional or electronic visa. Since citizens are exempt from income tax, the United Arab Emirates received 40 points in the tax system ranking, which makes it a desirable location for investors and businesspeople looking for a flexible tax system.
