Actors, reality stars, royalty, and a host of other A-listers have flown to Venice for the extravagant wedding of TV show Lauren Sanchez and Amazon entrepreneur Jeff Bezos. Among the celebs spotted on the streets and boats of the Italian city on Thursday and Friday were Ivanka Trump, Orlando Bloom, Kylie Jenner, and Oprah Winfrey.
Three days of celebrations are anticipated, culminating on Saturday with a lavish feast for the wedded couple and their hundreds of guests. A range of groups in Venice have protested the event, from environmentalists against climate change to residents against overtourism.
After the ceremony, Sanchez, 55, was shown on Instagram beaming with a joyous Bezos, 61, wearing a lace Dolce & Gabbana haute couture gown.
Matteo Bocelli, the son of Italian soprano Andrea Bocelli, was said to have performed at the ceremony on Friday on the small island of San Giorgio, which was attended by an estimated 200 people. Although the precise cost of the wedding is unknown, estimates vary from $20 million (£14 million) to over $50 million.
