New Regulations Apply to New Applicants, Therefore H1B Visa Holders Don’t Have to Rush Back: US Official

On Friday (local time), a senior US Administration official explained that the $100,000 yearly cost is intended for new H-1B visa petitions, not renewals or current holders, which is a huge relief for current H-1B visa holders.

The official said anyone who are currently in the United States on an H-1B visa, including those traveling to India or overseas, are exempt from having to pay the hefty $100,000 price or return to the United States by Sunday.

The $100,000 charge and a hasty return before Sunday are not required of anyone traveling to or departing from India. The official informed ANI that the $100,000 was exclusively for new holders and not for existing ones.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indian and American industries have a stake in invention and creativity and should be consulted on the best course of action in a statement about limits on the US H1B visa program.

Regarding the anticipated limitations on the US H1B visa program, the government has seen reports. The statement stated that all parties involved, including Indian industry, are studying the measure’s full ramifications. The sector has already released an initial analysis that clarifies several misconceptions regarding the H1B program.
