In an effort to strengthen collaboration and mutual goals between the UAE and Hong Kong capital markets, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), one of the most prominent and rapidly expanding exchanges in the Middle East, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) on Thursday.
The two exchanges’ partnership, which dates back to their first Memorandum of Understanding in March 2007, is strengthened by this one. Mohammad Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment, and Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong SAR, witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Investopia Global – Hong Kong forum in Hong Kong. This event highlighted the crucial role that the partnership plays in bolstering financial ties between the two regions.
By promoting the co-development of goods and services that satisfy changing investor demands and easing mutual market access, the MoU aims to increase ADX’s global footprint and promote global connectivity. This move reflects the ADX’s continuous attempts to strengthen ties with international markets. Under the MoU, the ADX and HKEX will collaborate to plan joint events, such as roadshows, seminars, training courses, and investor education initiatives, in order to increase the visibility of their respective capital markets in each other’s markets.
