In response to a rare pushback from supporters after attempting to draw a line under the subject, US President Donald Trump has stated that Attorney General Pam Bondi should divulge “whatever she thinks is credible” about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Following her statement last week that there was no proof Epstein had a “client list” or was blackmailing influential people, Bondi has come under fire from some members of Trump’s electoral base.
Trump told supporters over the weekend not to “waste time and energy” on the dispute. However, “transparency” is being demanded by the president’s supporters, such as Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson. It was determined that Epstein committed suicide in 2019 while incarcerated in the United States before a federal prosecution.
However, several people in Trump’s Make America Great Again (Maga) campaign have hypothesized that information about the well-connected convicted paedophile’s activities has been kept secret to shield influential people or intelligence services.
She’s handled it very well, and it’s going to be up to her,” Trump said on Tuesday, praising his attorney general’s handling of the situation. She should reveal anything she deems reliable. The president reiterated his appeal for the revelation of “credible” material later on Tuesday. However, he saw the Epstein issue as “sordid but boring”. He questioned why people still find it fascinating.
