Trump’s Choice for Singapore’s Envoy is Questioned in the Senate: “You Need to Get in Shape.

During his Senate confirmation hearing, Anjani Sinha, the US ambassador to Singapore, came under fire for his inability to adequately respond to enquiries about the island nation.

Senator Tammy Duckworth interrogated Dr. Sinha on Wednesday over Singapore’s role in South East Asia and the US’s relationship with the island nation. He was once informed by Ms. Duckworth that he needed to “shape up and do some homework” since he was “unqualified” for the position. Since then, the discussion has received negative internet feedback and gone viral in Singapore.

The US President hailed Dr. Sinha as a “highly respected entrepreneur” in March, before to announcing his selection.

I am confident that Anji would prioritise America and zealously serve the interests of our country. Many congratulations, Anji. Trump used a nickname for Dr. Sinha in a post on Truth Social. Dr. Sinha, an orthopaedic and sports medicine specialist currently practicing in Florida, was born in India and opened many clinics in New York.

His economic skills and “native respect for both American and Asian values, as well as his deep social and cultural ties to the Indo-Pacific region” “render him well qualified” for the position, according to a US State Department study.
