The Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 is set to commence with a significant presence from Ukraine and Russia, despite their ongoing conflict. Scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 10th, this event marks a critical juncture for international business and defense collaborations.
Ukraine is gearing up for a “country seminar” on the opening day, with their First Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko leading the discussion on investment opportunities between Ukraine and India. The focus will be on rebuilding Ukraine and fostering joint ventures in various sectors, notably aerospace and defense. The following day, Russia takes the stage with its seminar, highlighting potential collaborations in the Russian Far East and Arctic regions.
This 10th edition of the summit, the first since the COVID-19 pandemic, will not see Canada and the USA as partner countries, a notable shift from previous years. However, the event boasts a diverse participation of 36 countries, including Japan, Germany, the UK, and Australia, showcasing their prowess in various sectors.
Ahead of the summit, a global trade show, launched by Prime Minister Modi, will set the stage, featuring over a thousand exhibitors. This gathering at Gujarat’s Mahatma Mandir promises to be a melting pot of opportunities, amidst the backdrop of global tensions and alliances.
