For purposefully poisoning thirty patients, twelve of whom died, a former anesthetist was sentenced to life in prison. After a four-month trial in the eastern city of Besanň, Frédéric Péchier, 53, was found guilty on Friday.
Péchier was revealed to have added substances like potassium chloride or adrenaline to patients’ infusion bags in one of the largest medical negligence lawsuits in French history.
