Buckingham Palace has declared that Prince Andrew would vacate his Windsor residence, Royal Lodge, after losing his “prince” status. According to the statement, Andrew will henceforth be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor after the King “initiated a formal process” to remove his titles.
The King’s younger brother, 65-year-old Andrew, has been subject to increased scrutiny on his personal life in recent months. The Royal Family has experienced issues as a result of his connections to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. The prince has consistently denied any misconduct and gave up his titles last month.
His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and their kids, Beatrice and Eugenie, are also impacted by his precipitous decline in popularity. Public sentiment is strongly against Andrew, the Palace is aware of this, and the language strongly conveys that. Ordinary people don’t care about semantics; they just want to see retribution.
It is acknowledged that significant errors in Andrew’s judgment led to the conclusion and the action that was taken. It is also known that the government and the larger Royal Family were contacted and expressed their support for the choice.
