Under the vision and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai has emerged as a model for the green economy and the shift to clean and renewable energy sources, according to Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
In order to address the global environmental and climate concerns in a way that advances the realisation of sustainable development, the emirate has also emerged as a major hub for the organisation and hosting of significant international events, particularly in the fields of sustainability and innovation.
Sheikh Ahmed made this declaration at the opening of the 26th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), which was hosted by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). The following individuals were present at the inauguration: Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy; Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology; Abdulrahman Hareb Rashed Al Hareb, Director-General of the Financial Audit Authority in Dubai; Ahmed Mohammed Bin Thani, Director-General of the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority; and Suhail Bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
