An Egyptian traveler’s bag, which had all of his personal belongings, travel documents, and $7,000, was successfully returned by Dubai Police’s General Directorate of Airport Security. According to reports, the traveler accidentally took a bag that looked like his own. According to the authorities, he stole a female traveler’s suitcase from Dubai International Airport. After the Dubai Police filed a report, it was given back to the Egyptian traveler in less than half an hour.
The General Directorate of Airport Security’s Director, Brigadier General Hamouda Balsuwaida Al Ameri, reported that Egyptian traveler Mounir Sayed Ibrahim hurried nervously to the airport police office in the arrivals terminal to tell authorities that he had accidentally misplaced his own travel bag after stealing another passenger’s bag because the two bags were similar in shape and colour. He clarified that he had to take another flight to China in just one hour and that it included $7000 in addition to his luggage and travel documents.
According to Brigadier Al Ameri, the duty officer promptly established a task team to monitor the traveler’s progress as soon as he arrived at the airport, examine the security cameras, and contact Emirates Airlines.
