The two hydrogen fuel cell buses are being delivered and used in public transportation in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital, according to Juma Al Majid Co., Hyundai’s sole distributor.
This celebration follows the milestone of delivering the first busses in November 2024. Participating in the Integrated Transport Center (Abu Dhabi Mobility) Green Bus initiative from now until the end of 2025 are Hyundai Elec City FC and Universe FC. Both electric and hydrogen buses fall within the program’s city and regional bus categories. Elec City FC on City Route 65 and Universe FC on Regional Route 160 are the routes on which the Hyundai hydrogen buses are now running.
“We are proud to embark on this transformative journey with ITC towards sustainable and innovative transportation solutions,” said Suliman Al Zaben, Director of Hyundai UAE. These cutting-edge hydrogen-powered buses’ delivery to ITC ushers in a new era in our dedication to advancing sustainable energy and innovative technology in the area. This partnership, backed by Juma Al Majid’s inspiring leadership, confirms our commitment to serving the needs of commuters and Abu Dhabi residents while fostering a more sustainable and greener future. Hyundai’s enthusiasm and hope for this collaboration with ITC highlight our shared goal of spearheading the UAE’s shift to emissions-free transportation.
